Banderole printing at Primcut AG. We print, finish and assemble banderoles. Today, it is impossible to imagine the industry without banderoles. It’s amazing that this invention is only a few decades old. In a very short time, this slim, elegant packaging solution has conquered the markets. Banderoles offer numerous opportunities in the packaging sector – from the reduction of resource consumption to sales promotion measures.

Printing banderoles – economical, functional packaging

The narrow to wide band made of plastic or paper wraps the packaged goods and is welded or sealed. The banderole holds products together, enhances their appearance and promotes sales.

In addition to food protection functions, a banderole can also be used exclusively for marketing purposes. It describes the product and encourages people to buy it. A banderole increases the value of a particular product or draws attention to promotions. Depending on the market positioning, it fulfills other sales purposes.

Technical characteristics of banderoles

Banding machine technology has developed enormously. While triplex plastic films initially provided good packaging results, modern ultrasonic cold sealing technology enables the use of pure PP film in thicknesses of 60µ to 100µ. The material thickness has been and is being successively reduced as long as there are no disadvantages for the packaged goods. The demand for white and brown paper banderoles as an alternative to plastic films is also increasing.

Saving resources with banderoles

If you open your eyes to alternative packaging solutions, banderoles are increasingly being used to replace larger packaging.

For example, for holding apples together in combination with a recyclable cardboard tray instead of complete plastic packaging. Or when packaging and declaring fresh vegetables such as asparagus, zucchinis and rhubarb, where a lot of plastic waste can be avoided by using banderoles instead of shrink-wrapping.

There are also many attractive packaging options if only a narrow banderole is printed as a label instead of a large thermoformed tray. We would be happy to talk to you about the options for your specific product.

Banderole printing with finishing

Primcut offers a wide range of finishing options for banderole packaging. Foil embossing such as gold or holograms indicate the high quality of the food or product. Die-cutting gives the banderole a special shape and, combined with special colors, makes every packaging an eye-catcher.

Printed banderole for sales promotion
